The fermentation process...

...leads to me becoming very drunk. I got very drunk on Friday, my first night out with my workmates. Seemingly I was dancing on a stage, I have no recollection. Seemingly I ate a girl's burger, no recollection. Though I do remember talking to some people dressed as pirates. Fun fun fun. Talking of pirates, I saw a boat in the marina yesterday called 'Morpheus.'

Friday was also payday - hurrah.

Sunday. I cooked. Lots.

That's it.

Don't worry be happy

Dooooo do do do dooo do do do do do doo.

This hotel reservation thing is making me a bit uneasy. I won't go into further detail on this matter until the end of the day is out, for only reasons that only I know. But it's really bugging me. Grrr!

L's buggered off to the United States of America, leaving me with what appears to be an uneventful weekend ahead of me. I might do a bit of shopping, have a couple of drinks, run some errands. Christ, what has become of me?

Grrr to today!

Spontaneity has gotten the best of me...again!

So I'm off to Latvia, what the hell you gonna do 'bout it?

I believe that in the next couple of years, Ryanair and Easyjet will be responsible for me visiting every European country, at the same time making me very poor. But I don't care I'm off to Latvia, the home of the lat. L probably won't be very happy with my choice of hotel, but what the hell, I told her I would pay for her to go to a European country, and I wouldn't want her to call me cheap now, especially as it's her birthday treat. C'mon L, you really think that all I was going to get you was perfume; it's not how I operate.

Anyway, that's the excitement of today over and done with. The excitement of yesterday involved purchasing a tin opener and cheese grater, but on my new Tesco's clubcard. That's right , now I can earn when I spend. What a novel idea.

I also believe that my last few blogs have been far better than anything I have come up with previously. Perhaps this new job of mine is keeping my brain sharp? Or, perhaps I become a more interesting person every time I use my credit card? If that's the case, I'll be up there with Stephen Fry in no time.

Anyway, need to get a letter of intent off to Schindler. He makes lifts you know!

Another day, another building procurement book

It never rains but it pours. What is it with the weather in Wales? I thought that the weather back home in Carlisle was grim! It has cleared up now though. Damn weather.

Another thing...why is it that when you have all day to browse the internet you get bored within 10 minutes. It's a fountain of knowledge, if I so desired to build a nuclear bomb I could download a PDF file, with the exact instructions. Talking of instructions, my bed is now fit to be slept upon, hurrah (I hear you cry, L!) The really great thing about it is that it is soo comfy. Though as you said L, it is a virgin bed, but only because you won't come to visit me in Wales.

Work is slow today, most of my weekly tasks were completed yesterday, the rest of them completed about by 10am this morning, leaving me twiddling my thumbs like an autistic gorilla. I'm waiting on others to do work so I can have some more to do, that way I can stop reading Building Procurement by Alan Turner. What has happened to all the books written on construction since 1990? I feel as though I now know all there is on quantity surveying in the mid-80s!

Must go shopping tonight, I have no food and there is still no tin opener! Although my eating habits have changed quite considerably within the last three years or so, I still maintain that you can have a balanced diet eating only produce that is packaged in tins. I might investigate that further and make a documentary.

It's a bit wild outside...

Another early start, left Liverpool before 6am and the weather was shocking! Poor little Getz was getting blown all over the parish!

Anyway, my bed and sofa got delivered on Saturday, the sofa has to go back because it's the wrong bloody one and the bed took forever to put together. It still isn't complete yet, but I'll finish it off tonight (some self assembley required my arse!) Thinking of getting Sky installed in the flat as well, because we cannot get digital TV; due to the fact we have water on one side and mountains on the other - damn pretty countryside won't let me watch TV!

Won't see L for over a week now, which makes me :( but I'm :) that she gets to go to Chicargo (my best New England accent!) Perhaps she will bring me back fantastic prezzies on the same scale as Earle! I can but hope.

It's been a while reader!

So here I am. Back from the Americas, sitting at my new desk, basking in the glory of life as a quantity surveyor.

First things first; my exploration of the New World was fun, the food was plentiful and the clothing cheap - the beer not so! I now hate myself for enjying a Michelob beer.....no no no, Ultra is nasty beer that makes me sick whilst playing Centurion, that and the fact that Sam started talking to me. Instead I enjoyed the dark beer of Amber Bock, when I said I enjoyed it, I actually mean that it was the best beer of a bad bunch.

Anyway, brought back loads of things for L so hopefully they'll keep her happy for a while, that and the perfume, lotion and Earle the penguin I also got her! But I miss her. Liverpool isn't too far away, but the travelling and 8am starts look as though they can be problematic. I hope she stays, I want her to stay so much.

After having problems with maths and looking at technical drawings this morning, I wish that I'd paid more attention whilst at university; quantity suveying is awesome! Anyway, lunch break is over and I must earn my salary. Allegedly.
